Trina Solar Co., Ltd. ("Trina Solar"), the global leading solar player, announced today that through a partnership with Mitsui & Co., Ltd. ("Mitsui "), the consortium has been awarded with a 104 MWp of solar power project in Zacatecas, Mexico in the 3rd long-term auction held in November, 2017.

Trina Solar will develop, construct and co-invest with Mitsui in the project. The electricity (Energy) and Clean Energy Certificates (CELs) generated by the project will be sold under a 15-year purchase agreement for Energy and 20-year for CELs. The project is expected to commence the commercial operation by Q2 2020.

This project will be the second large project that Trina Solar will develop and construct in Mexico after the 133MWp solar project in Aguascalientes awarded at last year’s 2nd auction.

"We are delighted to win an additional 104 MWp solar project in Mexico, which will increase our presence in terms of development and construction activities in Mexico and in entire LatAm as well." commented by Mr. David YOU, Vice President of Trina Solar and President of International System Business Unit (ISBU). "We will continue to focus on more solar and total solution related businesses in Mexico and Latin America”.
